Perfect Bliss

On a windy night

In the middle of summer

The light showers

Soaked me skin down

Walking down the street

With all but myself

The darkness invited me

Welcomed me as its own

Uncertainty followed me

Fear shadowed my silhouette

Towering over my conscience

Questioned all I’d done

When I was certain

Confidence thwarted me

Now scared and doubtful

Courage keeps me company

A reluctant heart

Knows no fame, Identifies no glory

Baby steps to nascent dreams

Fountainhead of perfect bliss

  1. When i started the poem, I got curious on how you would relate it to the title. The middle took a little curve and the way it ended was perfect. Nice one. 🙂

Happy Anniversary ! 5 years is yayy!:-)

    1. Thank you, Prakash.
I can’t say I was certain I’d end it that way. It had turned out differently in my head. I guess, in the end, we don’t get to decide what we write, but the writing decides it.
You’re around here after long. Hope you’ve been well.

        1. That’s a great compliment especially when things are all over the place. This blog is my life blood. I don’t know what I’d be without it. So yes, I intend to keep filling up this pace with pieces of me.
