The Road Never Taken…

It’s a Monday like no other Monday. I am traveling to work, on the same train, through the same route, but why does it all seem different? Are all these the same people who travel with me everyday? Or are these new faces? Why do I have like a hundred eyes following me wherever I go? Or is it all just in my head?

I pause a little too long in between steps. Because my thoughts keep tracing back to you, to wherever in the world you are. I shake my dear head to clear it off your thoughts and look ahead, for what lies ahead. Bumpers in my walks, are the last things I want. I dodge some and expect some more. You were like that bumper, that hit me when I least expected, and when I fell, it moved the ground from beneath my feet. I literally did hit rock bottom.

But falling is no more to be done. It is not a choice, nor an option. I turn to the road I’ve never taken. I feel lost for a while, but I know I’ll be fine. I keep walking.

  1. Mondays have a way of making everything seem melancholy, especially when not long back from a holiday. Thankfully for us, your writing never fails to engage us for the better.

    1. You’re mighty humble and inspiring, as always. Mondays take me to different worlds. Today, it was all about horizons lost between the sea nd skies. How have you been, love?

      1. Horizons, I do love imagining what is beyond them and what adventures await. I have been good, enjoying the rain, if by enjoy it means avoiding! I managed to pick up a copy of Chronicle of a Death Foretold yesterday for 25 rupees which was a bargain. How about your good self?

        1. 25 Rupees? Well, do you have the Indian currency on the island? Marquez is always a pleasure to read. Do tell how you like it. I am thoroughly enjoying all your blog posts which I am delighted are frequent. Rains are always so refreshing. We have the monsoons in Mumbai and just how!
Been trying to pick up on my blogging since I lost on my track for good few months.
I have a lot of travel posts to do too. Why is it that we always fall short of time for things we love to do?

          1. No, no Rupees here, I just thought I would convert it so you wouldn’t feel the need to. I am with you on Marquez, he really is a masterful writer. I am glad you are liking my writing, I still have so much to write down but find time escapes me of late. I am getting a taste of the rainy season, Manila is getting flooded a lot as well as the surrounding areas. We are on flood alert already and it is mad trying to get anywhere in decent time. It’s nice to watch out of the window though.
It is one of life’s mysteries, the things that please us most get the least time. You’ve been posting a good amount though which is great. I’m looking forward to your travel posts, I always enjoy seeing a place through your eyes.

      1. Awww I’ve missed you too. I’m working a summer job while school is out. I’m writing another book and I’m very excited about it and I’m helping my sister who is suffering from Lyme Disease. What you up to these days?
