#Quoted: Imagination is like a…

Hello, readers and writers! What are you up to? Enjoying the festive season or fretting over new year resolutions? Whichever has you by grips, I hope you are writing much and well at that!

About writing.

Writing is all about streamlining your thoughts. Or may be not! Because when you give up the streamlining is when imagination kicks in. And getting caught up in the creative swirls is one of the best things that can happen to a writer.

Does your imagination fuel your writing? Or are you the kind of writer who relies on research and facts to get their wheels rolling? Or is it both?

In my opinion, imagination serves as a never-ending pool of writing fodder. It’s like a well; the more you draw from it, the fuller it gets. And all you have then to do is put that damn pen to paper and start frolickin’. Here’s a much relevant quote that you might like.

What do you think? How important is one’s imagination in shaping up one’s writing? Do share your thoughts below.

Happy writing, till we meet next.

Until then, carpe diem! 🙂

  1. Each day you wake up, you wake up with billions around the world but when the sun sets, not all retire. It is a joyful privilege to note that you are a unique person among billions of people who wake up each day to walk on the surface of the earth. It is a noble responsibility to note that you have to use this privilege effectively.

  2. I started writing again about two years ago and I wrote only when I got inspiration. Now, I invite inspiration and write when I want to, whether I have inspiration initially or not. This made me realize that inspiration is not limited and once you open it up, you can take as much from it as you want.

  3. I agree. I am the type that goes all out, no hold bar sort attitude when it comes to writing. The only time I do research is if I am stuck on how to proceed a character particular trait, habit, or line of work and other type of research is to review a product. I may know the ins and out of said item, but I may need a refresher from time to time.

  4. For me, the more I read and write the more my world is a blank page at every turn. I view the world and what I see as a possible idea for a writing piece. My imagination is in full swing, and I’m so grateful for that. Most definitely, the more I use it, the more it works for me.

“I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions.” ― James A. Michener
